Read an inspiring interview with Shilpa Reddy on her journey from Mrs India to entrepreneur, her views on sustainability, yoga, and mindful living.
Introduction
In a world where success is often measured by titles and achievements, Shilpa Reddy’s journey feels different. She is not just known as a Mrs India winner, model, or entrepreneur, but as someone who has continuously evolved with purpose. Her story is not about chasing multiple roles, but about staying true to herself through every phase of life.
From fashion and motherhood to sustainability and spirituality, her path reflects conscious choices rather than trends. In this candid conversation, she shares her thoughts on growth, inner balance, women empowerment, and the importance of living mindfully in today’s fast-moving world. This interview gives a deeper look into not just what she has done, but who she has become over time.
Shilpa Reddy’s Journey to Success
It may look like many roles from the outside, Mrs India, model, entrepreneur, designer, but for me, it has never been about becoming many things. I evolved. I allowed each phase of my life to change me, whether it was modelling, fashion, motherhood, or sustainability. I did not hold on to identities. I like to be put in brackets.
About “jack of all trades,” but I see it differently. I have simply allowed myself to evolve without being confined to one identity. Because true success, to me, is not in how much you achieve, how many things you do, but in how aligned you are with what you believe.
I stayed rooted in what felt true. I think people connect with that honesty.
What Happened to Shilpa Reddy Studio?
Shilpa Reddy Studio was a beautiful phase of my life, and I’m grateful for what it created. The label evolved, and so did I. What started as a creative expression slowly became something I could not fully stand behind, especially from a sustainability perspective. Moving away from it was a conscious decision to honour what I truly believe in today, it was about me choosing not to continue something that did not fully align with my values anymore. Today, I still design, but in a far more personal and responsible way.
Growth sometimes means having the courage to walk away, even from something successful.
Husband’s Support in Your Life
People often say that behind every successful man there is a woman, but I believe it goes both ways.
Behind every successful woman is a man of strong character, secure, grounded, and someone who truly respects and celebrates her growth. My husband, Preetham, is that person in my life.
He prefers to stay private, but he is my constant guiding force, my most honest critic who never lets me settle. We got married young, and it feels like we grew up together, witnessing each other’s journeys, failures, and evolution.
What I value most is that his support is never loud or performative it is steady, secure, and deeply enabling. And I believe that’s what truly empowers a woman to grow into her fullest self without ever being held back.
Hyderabad & Women Entrepreneurs + Your Advice
What’s beautiful about Hyderabad is that there is both community and ecosystem support. There are strong networks, mentorship platforms, and even state-backed initiatives like We Hub that actively enable women to start, scale, and sustain businesses.
Beyond all this, I also see a cultural shift, which is most important.
Entrepreneurship is not just about success; it’s about who you become in the process. start something you truly believe in. Something that aligns with your energy and inclination. Only then it sustainable. And never to compromise on integrity.
Your Daily Sustainable Living Habits
More than endorsing, I would say I encourage and bring awareness to sustainable living.
For me, it’s not about doing everything perfectly; it’s about being conscious in everyday choices. I’ve learnt this gradually, through my own journey. Small, consistent changes can go a long way if more people begin to adopt them.
Simple things like segregating waste, not littering, carrying your water bottle, carrying your carry bags, eating more home cooked meals, reducing packaged food, and being mindful about what we wear these are all very doable shifts. The way we arranged our world it is not possible to be 100% sustainable, and that is okay. But if each of us can make a few conscious choices in our own lives and influence even a couple of people around us, the collective impact can be significant.
It’s not about perfection, but more about awareness, intention and a strong civic sense.
Impact of Isha Practices & Sadhguru
My association with Sadhguru and the Isha practices has been a deeply transformative inner journey.
What began as a step towards wanting to be mindful slowly opened up into something far more profound.
It has made me more aware internally and externally of my thoughts, actions, and emotions. A deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of life.
Now it is not something I “do” separately. It has become the very basis of how I exist. Whether it is motherhood, work, or the choices I make every day, there is a certain mindfulness, clarity, stability, strength, empathy, compassion, and balance that comes from this sadhana.
I feel strongly anchored within. sense of being at ease and honest with myself, is perhaps the greatest gift of this path.
Linga Bhairavi Idol Significance
It’s actually not an idol, it’s a Yantra.
In our culture, Yantras are sacred energy forms, created with a certain geometric precision. They are not objects of belief, but powerful spaces of energy that can influence one’s inner state. The Linga Bhairavi Yantra, as Sadhguru explains, is a consecrated form of a living presence that you can bring into your home.
For me, Devi has never felt like something outside of me; she has always felt like a living, breathing presence. Her energy is so palpable, so undeniable, that it’s something you don’t have to believe in …you simply experience it.
There have been moments in her presence that I can only describe as magical, even miraculous… but more than that, it is the way she holds you. There is an immense sense of strength, grace, and a certain fierce compassion that you feel around her.
Having the Yantra at home is like having that presence with you.
For me, it is deeply personal… a space of connection, devotion, and a constant reminder of something far beyond the physical.
Love for Perfumes & Favorites
I would not call myself a perfume enthusiast, but I do enjoy fragrances, and over the years, my relationship with it has changed.
When you are on a certain spiritual path, your sensitivity to subtle aspects of life naturally deepens. Through my practices and sadhana, I have become more aware of subtler things. Fragrance can influence your mood, your nervous system, and even your overall energy. It’s something we all experience: different scents can calm you, uplift you, or ground you.
I had heard about this perfumer who could intuitively read your aura and create a fragrance, and I was curious. When I visited, what stood out wasn’t just the concept, but the experience itself. Sometimes, what something appears to be from the outside is very different from what you feel in its presence, and I’ve learnt to trust that inner sense.
I would not say I am drawn to perfumes in an indulgent way, but I do appreciate smelling good. Today, I find myself naturally leaning towards fragrances that are made with natural ingredients.
Your Secret to Reverse Ageing
I would like to correct that in my 40s, I started learning Yoga. I do not think of it as reverse ageing, I feel we are simply ageing faster than we should today, largely because our lifestyles are out of sync with nature.
The body is designed to age gracefully if it is supported well. When your body, mind, emotions, and energy are taken care of, ageing naturally slows down. It really comes down to how you live every single day.
The food you eat, the quality of your thoughts, how well you rest, your sleep cycles, the amount of screen time, the content you consume, and the emotions you hold on to all of this have a direct impact. Practices like yoga, meditation, and simply being in a state of gratitude bring a certain balance within.
I also believe self-care plays an important role. Taking care of your skin and hair, nourishing them consistently and consciously, is something I do very diligently it is not vanity, it’s a part of overall well-being.
Today, we see signs of ageing, such as much earlier grey hair, fatigue, joint pain, mental imbalance, and that is not natural; it is a result of imbalance.
For me, it’s about discipline and awareness. Of course, I do not feel the same as I did in my 20s or 30s, and that is natural but I do feel more balanced, more conscious, more evolved, and more in tune with myself.
There is no secret, it is simply consistent, mindful choices. A healthy body and a stable mind, nurtured with care and awareness, will always age more gracefully.
Ekam Preschool Journey & Uniqueness
Ekam began from a very personal space, watching my son grow up. As an only child, I became his friend, teacher, and playmate, and I realised how much children learn through simple, engaging experiences beyond formal schooling.
That led me to create Ekam with like-minded partners who share the same vision. What makes us different is our focus on the child as an individual. We believe every child comes with their own strengths, and in the right, stress-free environment, they naturally thrive.
Our approach is Reggio Emilia–inspired learning through play, exploration, and curiosity, rather than pressure.
It’s been a beautiful journey so far, and we’re now expanding, but our core remains the same: nurturing confident, balanced, and aware individuals.
Message to Achieveher Women Readers
With over two decades of fitness and years of inner work, I have realised that physical and mental health are the foundation of everything.
When these are in place, you feel clear, rooted, and capable. You have the energy to do more, without burning out.
Many women do not prioritise their health enough, but that is where everything begins. We all have limited time and energy, and how we nurture it shapes our life.
Do not try to do everything do what truly matters, with integrity. Stay consistent, stay aware.
Conclusion
Shilpa Reddy’s journey reminds us that true success is not about doing everything, but about doing what truly matters with honesty and awareness. Her life reflects a balance between outer achievements and inner growth, showing that both can coexist when guided by clarity and purpose.
Whether it is her approach to sustainable living, her spiritual practices, or her views on women’s growth, one thing stands out clearly: consistency and mindfulness can create a meaningful life. For anyone looking for inspiration, her story is a gentle reminder to stay grounded, take conscious decisions, and grow in a way that feels right, not just looks successful.
